Bodies of four occupants of helicopter that disappeared three days ago in Russia have been found

Russian authorities confirmed on Monday the discovery of the bodies of the four occupants of a helicopter that disappeared from radar on Friday in the Russian republic of Yakutia, located in the northeast of the country, after several days of searching in the area.

The regional public prosecutor’s office said in a statement posted on its website that the Federal Air Transport Agency had confirmed that “the aircraft was found completely destroyed following search and rescue operations.”

“The bodies of the pilot and three passengers have been located,” he said, three days after the disappearance of the aircraft, a Robinson R44II, was reported. The identities of the helicopter’s occupants and the reasons for the crash are still unknown.
