Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday expressed his gratitude to US President Joe Biden, who has withdrawn from the presidential race, for his “strong decisions” regarding the conflict with Russia and expressed respect for his “tough decision” to withdraw.
“Ukraine is grateful to President Biden for his unwavering support in the fight for its freedom, which, together with bipartisan support in the United States, has been and remains key. Numerous bold decisions have been taken in recent years, and they will be remembered as courageous steps taken by President Biden in response to difficult times,” Zelensky said on his X social media account.
In this regard, he has assured that he respects his “firm” and “tough” decision not to run for a second term, after which he has once again thanked the American president for his “leadership” at the most “dramatic” moment in the history of Ukraine.
“The current situation in Ukraine and across Europe is no less difficult, and we sincerely hope that continued strong U.S. leadership will prevent Russian evil from triumphing or its aggression from bearing fruit,” he added.
