Russian air defense forces shot down eight Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod region and the Black Sea early Sunday morning, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
“The kyiv regime’s attempts to carry out terrorist attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles against targets on the territory of the Russian Federation have been stopped tonight,” the Ministry of Defense announced in a post on its official Telegram channel.
The ministry also clarified in the same message that “air defence systems on duty have destroyed three unmanned aerial vehicles over the territory of the Belgorod region,” while another “five unmanned aerial vehicles have been intercepted in the Black Sea.”
These attacks come after the Russian Army intercepted and destroyed almost thirty drones coming from Ukraine over the Rostov region on Saturday. An attack that came after the death of at least two people was reported in a new attack carried out on Friday by Russian troops against the Ukrainian town of Bilozerka, located in the province of Kherson – partially occupied in the framework of the invasion unleashed in February 2022 by order of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin – as denounced by the Ukrainian authorities.
