At least seven Palestinian civilians have been killed and several others injured in the early hours of Sunday morning as a result of a new Israeli airstrike on the Bureij refugee camp in the centre of the Gaza Strip.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have bombed a family home in the Palestinian enclave, killing seven people, including women and children, and injuring a number yet to be determined, according to local sources reported by the Palestinian news agency Wafa.
The attack comes after Palestinian media reported several Israeli attacks in the central Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, killing eight people in the Nuseirat camp and three others in the Bureij camp.
The death toll from the military offensive launched by Israel against the Gaza Strip following the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions against Israeli territory has exceeded the threshold of 38,900, according to the Gazan authorities, controlled by the Islamist group, denounced this Saturday.
Specifically, the Gazan Ministry of Health has pointed out in a statement on its Telegram account that the offensive has so far left 38,919 dead and 89,622 wounded, before pointing out that “the Israeli occupation has committed four massacres against families in Gaza” during the last day, with a balance of 37 “martyrs” and 54 wounded transferred to hospitals in the Palestinian enclave.
