Colombian Finance Minister Ricardo Bonilla announced Friday that he is committed to the rapid and transparent progress of an investigation into a corruption scandal within the government.
The official asked the Attorney General’s Office to make a sworn statement after being notified of the opening of an investigation against him.
“I will face any examination of my official actions with respect for justice,” Bonilla said on his X account.
“My innocence, beyond any shadow of a doubt, will prevail with evidence and arguments that my legal team will provide, without distracting me from my true obligations,” he added.
