The Dutch Justice will dictate in November sentence on the demolition of the MH17

Aug. 15 () –

On November 17, the Dutch Justice will issue a ruling on the shooting down in July 2014 of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which collapsed in eastern Ukraine after the impact of a missile fired by pro-Russian rebels.

All 298 people on board the plane died, including 196 Dutch. In two months, a court in The Hague will determine the responsibility of three Russians and a Ukrainian tried ‘in absentia’, reports the NOS chain.

The trial started in March 2020, after an international investigation from which Russia has always distanced itself. He has also ruled out handing over the suspects, of whom only one has defended himself in court — through a lawyer.

The Prosecutor’s Office considers it proven that the four defendants played a key role in the transfer of the missile battery from Russia and participated in the deployment of the weapon, allegedly a Russian-made Buk missile.
