OnePlus Nord 4 boasts a metal body and promises fast and fluid operation until 2030

July 16 (Portaltic/EP) –

OnePlus has unveiled its most durable smartphone, the OnePlus Nord 4, promising six years of fast, fluid use thanks to its design, processor, software and battery, accompanied by new devices from the firm’s ecosystem, such as the OnePlus Pad 2 tablet and the OnePlus Watch 2R watch.

The Nord brand has gathered 27 million users in the first half of the year, a figure that the technology company intends to increase with the arrival of the new member, Nord 4, which debuts a metallic ‘unibody’ body with 5G connectivity.

This design has posed a challenge for connectivity, which the company has solved with compact antennas that take up 50 percent less space than full-size ones, and a redesigned motherboard that helps the phones send and receive signals clearly, taking advantage of the metal unibody. It also makes it more efficient, up to 20 percent more than the Nord 3.

For this design, a metal frame with a thickness of 1.46 mm has been used, which borders a 6.74-inch Amoled screen, which offers a resolution of 2,772 x 1,240 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It has Aqua Touch technology to facilitate its use both if the screen and your hands have gotten wet.

It is also compatible with the Ultra HDR photography format, which offers more detailed contrast in shots with dark areas and in brighter ones. The main camera has two sensors signed by Sony, one with 50 megapixels with optical image stabilization and another ultra-wide angle of 8 megapixels with an angle of 112ยบ. On the front there is a 16 megapixel selfie camera.

It also incorporates artificial intelligence tools to improve the result, for example, to show open eyes and more defined faces, remove elements and reconstruct the background, and crop and copy elements from one photo to add them to another.

These features, as well as the overall performance of the device, are powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor and a Qualcomm AI Engine neural processing unit. And with the OnePlus Performance Intelligence system, gaming performance is improved.

The battery of this device offers up to four years of use without perceptible degradation with Battery Health Magic technology. This 5,500mAh element offers more than a day of use, and is compatible with 100-watt fast charging, which recharges to 100 percent in 28 minutes. In addition, five minutes are enough to watch up to five hours of content on Netflix, according to the company.

5G Network Intelligence technology, on the other hand, improves connectivity by giving 5G a boost, or facilitating faster network recovery in places with poor connectivity, such as an elevator.

The kit is available in three different colors, each with a different finish: Mercurial Silver, with a laser-etched 2D design; Obsidian Midnight, with a brushed metal finish; and Oasis Green, with a gradient finish.

The company offers up to six years of software and security updates, which, together with the rest of the features, promises that it will run quickly and smoothly until 2030.

OnePlus Nord 4 will be available on August 8 in two variants: with 16GB RAM and 512GB internal capacity (priced at 499 euros) and 12GB+256GB (599 euros).

ONEPLUS PAD 2 TABLET

OnePlus has also taken advantage of this event to present new devices that complement the smartphone experience, starting with the OnePlus Pad 2 tablet, which replicates the Nord 4’s unibody design in aluminum.

This tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and has a memory configuration of 256GB of internal capacity and 12GB of RAM. It also features a 12.1-inch 3K display with a 144Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision, and six Hi-Res Audio-certified stereo speakers.

It introduces AI productivity features, while the open source software enables multitasking, allowing up to three apps to be opened simultaneously.

The tablet will go on sale on August 1, priced at 549 euros. New accessories will also be available for this device: the OnePlus Stylo 2 (99 euros), the keyboard (149 euros) and the case (59 euros).

Additionally, the company has introduced the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro wireless earphones, with 49db hybrid noise cancellation and BassWave 2.0 equalization technology to perceive the bass more clearly. They offer up to 44 hours of autonomy with a full charge of the case and without using noise cancellation.

It has also presented the OnePlus Watch 2R, with WearOS and the Google Assistant, which offers up to 100 hours of battery life and a classic watch design with an aluminum chassis, which makes it 25% lighter.

This watch is powered by the Snapdragon W5 gen 1 processor, and features a variety of sensors and dual-frequency GPS. The fitness tracking app brings all user data together in one place, and can be viewed on a larger screen when accessed on the OnePlus Pad 2 tablet. It also has Strava integration.

OnePlus Watch 2R is now available, and can be found in two colors (Gunmetal Gray and Forest Green), priced at 279 euros.
