Police on Monday arrested three people suspected of being responsible for several shots fired at a refugee centre in the German city of Uffenheim, in the southern Bavaria region, in an incident in which no injuries have been reported.
Several witnesses reported shots fired in the air at around 1.10pm, triggering a “major police operation”. As the first patrols arrived, noises of banging were heard, according to a statement.
The police cordoned off the area with several patrol cars. At around 2:35 p.m., one person left the building and was arrested by the police without resistance. The special forces searched the building and found two other people, who have also been arrested.
Police are currently unaware of the source of the shooting, which is being investigated. The gun has not yet been found and they are still searching the apartment in question.
