If you play sports, you almost certainly already have a GPS sports watch, essential for quantifying your workouts and measuring your performance. From there, opting for more and more complete models is just a matter of time once you open that door.
There are many brands that have everything to say, but above all three: Garmin, Suunto and Polarthe three giants of the sector, although there are many more that have arrived from the technology sector and have also been making their way.
Like almost every year, The Garmin Fenix 7 are the protagoniststhe benchmark and the rival to beat for everyone else, and this time they have a much more attractive price than ever in all their versions.
There is a lot to choose from depending on whether you are a runner, triathlete, if you prefer a trail model with better positioning on rural trails or if you want a smartwatch that also has sports functions.
So you don’t have to sift through all the Prime Day 2024 sports watches, we’ve done the picking for you, with eight watches that we can rate as outstanding for both their price and their features.
- Garmin Fenix 7 in various versions
- Polar Grit X Pro
- Suunto 9 Peak Pro
- Garmin Forerunner 255
- Polar Pacer Pro
- Huawei Watch GT 4
- Apple Watch Series 9
- Garmin vivoactive 5
Garmin Fenix 7
If the Prime Day bargain you were hoping for was the Garmin Fenix 7, good news: it’s here, and in virtually all its editions.
Want the solar-powered one? It’s there. The 7X Pro? It’s there too, and at record-breaking prices that are sure to make it one of the hottest-selling devices of the day again.
It is worth noting that on other occasions there are versions that have sold out on the first day, so if the price convinces you, you better hurry.
Polar Grit X Pro
This model is somewhat different from the Fenix, as it is designed for trail running, that is, for mountains and routes where other watches would end up losing the GPS signal. It costs less than 300 euros.
For example, it has a function that allows you to take a guided tour and then return to your starting point, but not only that, it also adds much more battery than its rivals, with 40 hours of autonomy with the GPS activated.
The shock- and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is another essential detail for outdoor sports, although this watch is not only suitable for running or cycling: it can handle dozens of other sports.
Suunto 9 Peak Pro
Finnish brand Suunto is gaining ground, and it’s not surprising at all because users who try their watches always tend to repeat.
The Suunto 9 Peak Pro with GPS and unrivalled battery also boasts an ultra-light design, which contrasts with the usual in the sector, where rather bulky and very heavy watches dominate.
Now it falls to less than 300 euros for the first time and is ideal for running, but is also waterproof to 100 meters.
Garmin Forerunner 255
Below families like the Fenix or the Epix, Garmin has other bestsellers in the Forerunners, which are somewhat more affordable multisport watches but which have all the advanced functions for running.
The Forerunner 255 not only has a very accurate GPS, but also collects and processes all data to offer personalized advice and training so that you can improve little by little.
It also measures sleep quality and calories burned, among other things, but Garmin Coach is its main function.
Polar Pacer Pro
The Polar Pacer is a direct alternative to the Garmin Forerunners, and the Pacer Pro model adds some features that can tip the balance in its favor, such as VO2 Max.
Of course, it measures data such as pace, splits and strides while running, but it also accurately collects data in other types of sports beyond running.
The best of all is its price, which barely exceeds the 150 eurosand that makes it a great bargain.
Huawei Watch GT 4
More than a sports watch, the Huawei Watch GT 4 is a smartwatch that also has sports functions, and it does so very well, with a fairly complete health and sports application.
The AMOLED display is superior to that of almost all sports watches and also syncs notifications and even calls, but it lacks mobile payments, its main shortcoming.
In our analysis we were able to test it thoroughly in practically all aspects, and we liked it quite a lot.
Apple Watch Series 9
It’s clear that Apple users have to be very loyal to brands like Garmin to choose them over the watch that best fits the iPhone: the Apple Watch in all its versions.
If you’re part of the Apple family and your watch is due for a replacement, the Apple Watch Series 9 has landed in the Amazon Prime Day 2024 deals in several versions, with or without eSIM and in the two sizes in which it is on sale.
Garmin vivoactive 5
Focused on fitness rather than purely sporting aspects, the vivoactive 5 is a Garmin smartwatch, more similar to the Apple Watch and less to the Fenix, and that is why it has another type of color screen with an AMOLED panel that, while consuming more energy, is brighter and sharper.
It does leave out some advanced running measurement features, but if you’re using it for the gym, walking or doing yoga, it’s almost certainly a better option.
Now it costs only 199 euros approximately, depending on the color or size.
