Before being world famous for Dark Souls and spin-off titles, FromSoftware made a name for itself in the video game industry with franchises like ARMORED COREwhich returned in 2023 with its 6. ᵃ delivery after a decade of absence. Now, a new clue suggests that a new project is in the works.
Let us remember that ARMORED CORE VI: Fires of Rubicon debuted in August 2023 and was well received by players. The positive reviews were reflected in an outstanding commercial performance: in addition to breaking a record of simultaneous players on Steam, it managed to sell more than 2 million units.
With this in mind, it seems logical that FromSoftware and Bandai Namco want to explore the franchise with new projects. It’s unknown what’s in the works, but a recent hint seems to indicate that the developers are working on DLC or, at best, a new installment.

FromSoftware would be working on something related to ARMORED CORE, according to a job vacancy
A user on the tech4gamers forums discovered that FromSoftware is currently looking for new talent to join its ranks. One of the job openings is for a character modeler position, although it is not revealed which project the person who gets the job will be involved in.
The successful candidate will be responsible for modeling and texturing characters and robots, as well as performing other tasks related to animation, rigging, camera work, etc. Admittedly, the description is very vague and does not reveal substantial details about the company’s games that are on the planning table.
Naturally, the mention of robots made some players believe that a project related to ARMORED CORE is on the way. Considering that most FromSoftware games have downloadable content, it’s not unreasonable to think that the latest title in the series will receive a DLC or an expansion.
In September 2023, the dataminer Zullie found lines of text in the code of ARMORED CORE VI which refer to downloadable content, as even the word “DLC” is mentioned directly. If we consider that Shadow of the Erdtree It was a commercial success, and even boosted sales of ELDEN RINGit seems logical that the development studio wants to repeat the formula.
In an interview in early 2024, Hidetaka Miyazaki expressed interest in returning to the franchise. While he acknowledged that the 6th installment was well received, he confessed that there is still room for improvement. Having said all this, FromSoftware has not yet officially revealed what its next project will be, so we recommend taking this information with a grain of salt and waiting for a formal announcement.
But tell us, do you think the action game will have a DLC? Would you prefer it to be a new installment? Let us know in the comments.
