Due to the risk this practice poses to the entire community, players have raised their voices and asked Microsoft for help through social media. They have shared images to prove that they have received multiple spam messages from suspicious accounts.
Although users have the option to change their settings to not receive messages from any account, the reality is that this problem has become more pronounced in recent days. At the time of writing, Xbox has not issued a statement on the matter and therefore it is unclear whether it will take action on the matter.
On the other hand, it is also important to mention that this is not a new problem nor is it exclusive to Xbox. Other platforms also suffer from it on a daily basis and Microsoft has tried to stop it since 2015 with mixed results.
