Microsoft just announced a series of changes to Xbox Game Pass, the subscription service that allows access a catalog of gamesopens the doors to online multiplayer and also offers other benefits such as discounts on purchases.
The company has decided to update the price of Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass Core, and Game Pass for PC worldwide. Game Pass for console, meanwhile, has stopped accepting new members. Let’s take a look at the details of the changes.
Here are the prices on Xbox Game Pass
If you currently subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass Core, or Game Pass for PC, the increase will not affect you yet. The new prices will take effect on the next billing charge after September 12, 2024.
Users who subscribe on or after July 10, 2024, i.e. new subscribers, will be charged the updated rates.

As we mentioned above, Microsoft has made the decision to say goodbye to Xbox Game Pass for consoles. This means that from now on this tier will not accept new members. The changes come with the announcement of a new level called Xbox Game Pass StandardAs its name suggests, this is not the most complete (or most expensive) alternative from the Redmond company. The main difference from the rest of the tiers is that it will not include games from the launch day.
The other tier that doesn’t include games on launch day is Xbox Game Pass Core. For example, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on launch day (later this year) only on the Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass for PC, and Xbox Game Pass for Console tiers.
Xbox Game Pass Standard, however, will offer all the benefits of Game Pass Core, such as online multiplayer and deals and discounts, along with a catalog of “hundreds of high-quality console games.” It should be noted that there is still There is no set date for launch.
