Ten people killed in landslide at gold mine in Indonesia

At least ten people have died and more than 25 are missing after a landslide hit a gold mine in the Indonesian town of Tulabobo, located on the island of Sulawesi, which has been hit by heavy rains in recent hours.

Heriyanto, head of the search and rescue office in Gorontalo province, where Tulabobo is located, said rescue teams were trying to locate the missing, although the death toll could rise in the coming hours.

Abdul Muhari, spokesman for the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), told Indonesian television channel Kompas that more than a thousand people have been affected by the rains in Gorontalo province.
