This carpenter couldn’t afford a sports car, so he built one out of wood… and it works!

Wooden mechanical keyboards are here, what do they offer?

There are things more important than money, and one of them is creativity. If you are a creative person, money will come one way or another. For this carpenter from Vietnam, it came in the most unexpected way: manufacturing wooden sports cars.

Calling Truong Van Dao a carpenter is perhaps a little unfair. He does not build or manufacture, but creates. He is a true wood artist.

Four years ago he was living a humble life, working in his workshop. He was frustrated because he didn’t have the money to buy his son a toy car, so he decided to build it himself, using wood. And that’s where it all began.

A working wooden sports car

He started building shoebox sized miniature carsBut he realized that his son liked to ride them, so he built them a replica of a Ferrarion a 1:3 scale. It had no mechanics whatsoever: the car had to be pulled with a rope.

Truong Van Dao’s ambition knew no bounds. He built the sports Bugatti Centodieci on a larger scale, and added a electric motor and a movable steering wheel, to drive it.

In four years he has built all kinds of wooden vehicles, at different scales: jeeps, tanks, street cars… You can see them in this video:

A Lamborghini Vision GTa Audi Skysphere and a Mercedes Vision AVTR, are among his most acclaimed creations.

He just wanted to please his son, but it ended up becoming his way of life. This Vietnamese wood artist He has already accumulated almost three million followers on YouTubeand does not have time to complete all the orders he receives.

He claims that all the wood he uses comes from discarded trees, he does not cut down any trees or buy the wood.

His latest creation is very special: instead of copying existing vehicles, has designed a car from scratchwith the help of the igenerative artificial intelligence.

This is a fantasy vehicle that It reminds me of a time machineand it’s full of gears and strange mechanisms. But the most important thing is that it works.

He was a humble carpenter from Vietnam, but with creativity, imagination and talent, and his wooden sports cars, Truong Van Dao has managed to carve out his future.
