June 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah confirmed this Saturday the death of one of its members, Abbas Munif Atwi, in an Israeli attack in southern Lebanon.
Atwi was originally from the town of Shaqra and “died while fulfilling his jihad duty on the way to Al Quds,” the Arabic name for Jerusalem, according to media outlets affiliated with Hezbollah.
Israel reported several attacks against southern Lebanon this Saturday, including a bombing of a building in Hula where several Hezbollah members were present.
With this death there are now at least 355 Hezbollah members who have died since the escalation of hostilities that began on October 7.
Hezbollah has also reported the destruction of Merkava – battle tanks – and Namer – armored infantry transport vehicles – in the border area with guided missiles, information that has not been confirmed by Israel.
