In the absence of new GPUs to replace the current Radeon 7000 or NVIDIA 4000, it seems that manufacturers continue to release models from previous generations. On Tuesday we learned about the low-profile variant of the RX 6400 from ASRock, and today it is ASUS who brings back another GPU from the last generation of AMD, the Radeon RX 6500 XT, for its ASUS Radeon RX 6500 XT Dual OC V2 Edition.
With a compact size, but two slots thick, this graphics card has an aluminum dissipation block on a single heatpipe and where two fans are placed (hence the name DUAL). It has dimensions of 20.1 x 12.8 x 4 centimeters. It is powered by a single 6-pin PCIe connector.
The GPU is AMD’s Navi 24, with 1,024 SPs and 4 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 64-bit interface. It offers an HDMI 2.1 output and a DisplayPort 1.4a.
Its speeds are somewhat overclocked compared to the reference model, and start from 2,670 MHz in Game mode to 2,820 MHz in Boost.
It remains to be seen if a graphics card from two generations ago has a place in a market that has been without much new developments in GPUs for too long. At the moment its price is unknown, but this would be one of the few assets with which a graph like this could play.
For reference, there is a previous model (the V1) with a somewhat more elaborate design with two heatpipes that currently costs 241 euros.
