International seminar “Gender equality in mining: towards an inclusive future”

The Natural Resources Division (DRN) of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the German Cooperation/GIZ and the Ministry of Mining and Metallurgy of Bolivia (Plurinational State of), within the framework of the Regional Cooperation Program for the Sustainable Management of Mining Resources in the Andean Countries (MinSus), will hold the international seminar “Gender equity in mining: heading towards an inclusive future”, in La Paz, Plurinational State of Bolivia, on July 4 and 5 of 2024.

The International Seminar aims to finalize the technical assistance process provided by ECLAC and German Cooperation/GIZ to the Ministry of Mining and Metallurgy of Bolivia, within the consultative process phase, presenting the preliminary results of the diagnosis, socializing the inputs collected through local dialogues and in order to facilitate collaborative feedback on the roadmap and guidelines proposed to promote gender equity in Bolivian mining, with the participation of prominent actors from the national and international sphere.

The seminar is aimed at public servants from national Ministries and other related portfolios; representatives of productive mining actors, representatives of civil society and invited organizations, interested in knowing equity and gender inclusion in mining in Bolivia. In addition, representatives from other countries in the region will participate to share their experiences in promoting gender equality in the respective mining sectors.
