This Google application that closes after only six years of life

Google Podcasts is saying goodbye. An app that many people still used. But Google prefers that you use YouTube Music.

The app, available for iOS and Android, allowed users to listen to this type of content, subscribe to favorite channels, and receive suggestions based on their interests.

Google offers the option to migrate to YouTube Music, which is where it has integrated podcasts. It has implemented a system to carry out the migration.

But the change has not pleased many people.Many podcast fans like to have their own app, so they don’t have to sort through music or audiobook recommendations when they just want to listen to a podcast.

According to comment BleepingComputersome users complain that YouTube Music does not have the specialized search functions or certain podcast playback options, which the specialized app did have.

Google assures that integrate podcasts into YouTube Music because most users listen to them from here. But it seems to be a purely commercial decision.

Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music and most of the competition have merged their podcast, music, and audiobook servicesand Google wants all of its podcast users to integrate into YouTube Music, in order to boost user numbers.
