The Ibex 35 has finally closed today’s session with a fall of 0.72%, which brought it to 10,951.5 points, weighed down by Grifols which has lost 12.2% after the latest rating updates made by the credit rating agencies Moody’s and Fitch of the blood derivatives company.
Also noteworthy today is the agreement reached by Enagás to sell its 50% stake in the Mexican company Estación de Compresión Soto la Marina to the shareholder holding the remaining 50% of the capital, Esentia Anáhuac, for an amount of 15 million dollars (around 14 million euros).
On the other hand, FCC will hold its ordinary general meeting of shareholders this Thursday, June 27, in which it has approved the listing of 80% of its real estate business and all of its cement activity, for a value of 1,596 million euros, before the end of the year.
In the macro arena, the confidence data in the Eurozone show that expectations in Spain have increased substantially in June, thus distancing themselves from the declines in the Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) for the Eurozone and the European Union (EU), prepared by the European Commission.
In the US, the third estimate of GDP for the first quarter has been published, when the economy registered an expansion of 0.4%, this is half the growth of 0.8% in the fourth quarter of 2023. In annualized figures, the GDP advanced 1.4% between January and March, compared to 3.4% in the previous three months.
Thus, the Ibex 35 has closed with a large part of its values negative, highlighting the falls, beyond Grifols, Endesa (-3.86%), Solaria (-2.77%), Indra (-2.62% ), Amadeus (-2.23%) and ACS (-1.62%). Rovi (+1.82%), Sabadell (+0.99%), Colonial (+0.55%), BBVA (+0.43%), Redeia (+0.37%) and Aena (+0.21%).
The main European stock markets have also closed with falls: Milan has lost 1.06%; Paris, 1.03%; and London, 0.56%. Only Frankfurt managed to end the day positively, with an advance of 0.30%.
In the commodities market, the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil was $86.02, up 0.93%, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil rose 0.84% to $81.57.
On the other hand, the price of the Spanish 10-year bond was at 3.350%, compared with 3.335% at the close on Wednesday. The risk premium thus stood at 87 basis points.
On the foreign exchange market, the euro gained 0.24% against the dollar, reaching 1.0707 euro for each unit of the common currency.
