Bluesky has launched its new Starter Packs, personalized invitations aimed at users who do not have an account on the platform to join it and which bring together a series of accounts and ‘feeds’ recommended by the creators of these starter packs.

This ‘microblogging’ platform was unveiled five years ago and it was the then CEO of Twitter (now X), Jack Dorsey, who presented it, announcing his commitment to finance an independent team. to develop an “open and decentralized” standard for social network.

Bluesky has seen quite a bit of activity in recent months, as changes have been made such as the removal of the invitation system with which the platform debuted, as well as the integration of support for direct messages (DM) and video clips. video up to 90 seconds.

The company has announced now a novelty that is presented as Starter Packs, starter packs designed by the users themselves in a personalized way to help other people join their communities.

A starter package can be created manually or using the automatic generation tool offered by the platform. In this way, you can click on the option ‘Create one for me’, which comes preloaded with suggested users and custom ‘feeds’. All of these recommendations can be deleted, although it is also possible to add items from this list.

If you prefer to start from scratch, to add a total of 50 followed profiles and three personalized ‘feeds’ to the starter package, you must click on the ‘Create’ option, as explained by the platform on its website.

It has also indicated that each starter pack comes with a link and a shareable QR code. It is also possible send it by text messageshare it on a social network or publish it in other applications.

Bluesky has also reported that these starter packages do not appear in the search section of the platform, so it will only be possible to join if you have received its corresponding url or QR.

To access these starter packages, you must update bluesky to version 1.87 of the mobile application – available through the Play Store and the App Store – or access the Desktop version of the social network, which already includes this new feature.
