It is worth remembering that there are already products on the market such as the Analogue Pocket for the Game Boy and the Super NT for Super Nintendo, to name a few, so in terms of concept it is not unreasonable to think that there is hardware for SEGA consoles.
In this regard, those responsible for SuperSega are a group of enthusiasts of the Japanese company originally from Spain and the project indicates that a Virtex Ultrascale+ FPGA chip will be used to deal with the needs of each game running as if it were running on its respective console. .
Until now, SuperSega remains a prototype and only sketches are provided of what the console would be, which on the top would have inputs for the Sega SC-3000, Master System and Genesis cartridges, while on the side a disc reader for Saturn and Dreamcast games, although the detail may be in the company’s latest console since it used a particular optical medium, the GD-ROM.
