Princess Anne, sister of Charles III, is "slowly recovering" from her accident with a horse

June 26 () –

Princess Anne of the United Kingdom, sister of King Charles III, is “slowly recovering” from the accident she suffered on Sunday at her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire, according to her husband, Vice Admiral Tim Laurence.

“She will come out when she is ready,” Laurence told the press after leaving Southmead hospital, located in Bristol, where Princess Anne has already spent three nights after suffering a concussion and minor head injuries.

Buckingham Palace said Monday that Princess Anne is expected to remain in hospital until the end of this week “as a precaution.” The official note does not give details of what happened, but sources cited by the BBC assure that the injuries resulted from a blow with the horse’s legs or head.

The incident has forced him to suspend the official trip he was going to make to Canada this week. Likewise, the banquet held on the occasion of the visit of the Japanese emperors Naruhito and Masako was missed this Tuesday.
