The Russian and Ukrainian authorities reported this Tuesday the exchange of another 90 soldiers who had been taken as prisoners during the war, nearly two and a half months after the start of the invasion.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed the delivery of 90 Ukrainian soldiers in exchange for another 90 Russian soldiers. Likewise, it has reported the participation as an intermediary of the United Arab Emirates.
“The released servicemen will be taken to Moscow to receive treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Russian Ministry of Defense. All will receive the necessary medical and psychological assistance,” he said.
For his part, President Volodymyr Zelensky has celebrated that another 90 Ukrainians have been able to return from “Russian captivity”, including, he said, soldiers who were during the defense of Mariupol and the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, as well as in the Kharkov, Kherson, Donetsk and Lugansk fronts.
“We remember all our people in Russian captivity. We continue our work for the liberation of everyone,” said the Ukrainian president, who also thanked the Emirati authorities for their participation during the process. “Together we can achieve even the most difficult results,” he said.
