A strong heat wave is hitting much of the American continent and Europe where temperatures have reached 45 degrees Celsius. The heat wave that has left extremely high temperatures in the Northeast of the United States will ease somewhat this week, when the danger will move to the south of the country, according to the climate prediction center of the National Weather Service.

North African winds are raising temperatures in the south of Europe. Eight Italian cities have issued heat alerts, and experts fear this could be the hottest year on record, surpassing the previous record of 48.8°C in 2021.

Saudi Arabia reported this Sunday that more than 1,300 people died in the Hajj pilgrimage, saying many of the cases are heat-related.
