Biden condemns "anti-Semitic" pro-Palestinian protest outside a Los Angeles synagogue

June 24 (EUROPA PRESS) –

US President Joe Biden has condemned the “anti-Semitic” pro-Palestinian protest that led to violent incidents with counter-protesters on Sunday outside a Los Angeles synagogue.

“Bullying Jewish faithful is dangerous, inadmissible, anti-Semitic and anti-American,” Biden said in a message posted on social media. “Americans have the right to peaceful protest, but preventing access to a place of worship and engaging in violence is never acceptable,” she added.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in front of the Adas Torah synagogue, in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood of the Los Angeles capital. In the videos broadcast on social networks you can see pushing, punching and people running in chases in the middle of the street.

There are several investigations into open injuries, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced on Sunday that she would meet with the city’s Police Chief, Dominic Choi, to address what happened and request more security at places of worship.

“I want to make it clear that Los Angeles is not going to support anti-Semitism and violence. Those responsible will be found and held accountable,” Bass warned.
