June 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Tens of thousands of protesters have taken to the streets of the main Israeli cities on Saturday to protest against the Government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, ask for early elections and demand an agreement for the release of the hostages held in the Gaza Strip. Loop.
The largest demonstration was once again in Tel Aviv, where they chanted slogans such as “Alive, alive and not in bags” in what is already, according to estimates, the largest demonstration since October 7.
The organizers claim that around 150,000 people have supported the protest, according to the newspaper ‘Yedioth Aharonoth’ in its digital edition. There have also been demonstrations in Jerusalem, Haifa, Beersheba and other cities.
The marches have remembered the soldier Naama Levy, held in Gaza and who turns 20 today. Her mother, Yoni Levy, has called on Netanyahu to “love and care for her and all the hostages just as he loves and cares for himself.”
“I imagine what you would be doing today. We would prepare a table full of sweets and balloons and gifts for you like we do every year. This day could have been very happy,” he said. “Instead, you are there, in the dark, for 260 days. This year the sweets taste like nothing and there are no gifts,” he lamented.
