ECLAC participates in the Meeting of B companies in Chile

Inspiring and linking companies and attendees to address triple impact challenges and promote solutions through the market in Chile, was the central purpose of the Sistema B Biennial meeting, held on May 29 and 30 in Santiago, Chile.

During the meeting on Thursday, May 29, the panel “Impact financing: opportunity and challenge” took place with the initial presentation by Felipe Correa, researcher at the Productive and Business Development Division of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean ( ECLAC). The panel also included the participation of Nicolás Shea, Executive President of Cumplo, and María José Montero, Director of Sustainable Investments at Ameris and Director of the Chilean Association of Investment Fund Administrators (ACAFI).

ECLAC’s presentation focused on the situation and productivity of impact companies, an instance in which it presented two of the investigations published by ECLAC in recent years: “Comparative productivity of social economy companies in Chile”, a study published in 2022, and “Sustainability business certifications in Latin America and the Caribbean”, published in 2023.

This biennial event that brings together B Companies, B Local Communities, System B allies and other publics linked to Triple Impact, allows ECLAC a constructive dialogue with the private sector, generating a space to share and disseminate the knowledge produced, at the same time, as well as discussing development challenges in order to boost productivity and sustainable development in the region.
