An Indian man accused by US authorities of being involved in a failed assassination attempt against a Sikh separatist in the North American country has been extradited to the United States from the Czech Republic, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The US Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the accused is Nijil ‘Nick’ Gupta, 52, while noting that an official identified only as ‘CC-1’ was considered suspected of “conspiring” from India “to murder in the city of New York to an American citizen of Indian origin.

A search for the name of Nijil Gupta on the website of the United States Federal Bureau of Prisons shows that the man is in the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, in New York City, without details about him having emerged for now. the date of extradition by the Czech authorities.

Gupta traveled to Prague from India in June 2023 and was arrested there by Czech security forces.
