The IEPS subsidy for regular gasoline returns

The IEPS subsidy for regular gasoline returns

In the week of June 15 to 21, a subsidy of 1.58% will be applied for each liter of regular gasoline purchased in the country, according to information published this Friday in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF).

With the subsidy of 0.0973 cents, consumers will pay 6.0779 pesos per liter of magna gasoline, instead of 6.17 pesos.

With this, a streak of one month without subsidies for regular fuel is ended.

Per liter of premium and diesel, which continue their subsidy, the PIES remains at 5.2146 and 6.7865 pesos per liter, respectively, according to what is published in the DOF.

So far in 2024, premium gasoline has not had a subsidy to the IPES, while diesel was left without this support at the end of April.

The federal government grants subsidies to the IEPS of gasoline so that the increase in its price is not passed on to consumers, helping their pockets and avoiding inflationary pressures.

On Friday, June 14, the national average price of regular gasoline was 23,584 pesos, that of premium was 25.2 pesos, and a liter of diesel had a cost of 25,157 pesos, according to the Petro Intelligence agency.
