The Minister of Security of Argentina, Patricia Bullrich, has addressed the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, to tell him that “Europe has lost” after “insulting” the Argentine Government, after the PSOE won 20 seats in the elections to the European Parliament held this Sunday, a result that has made it the second force after the PP at a distance of two MEPs and four percentage points.
“Sánchez, you insulted our Government and lost Europe…”, Bullrich published on his social network account .
Thus, Milei has pointed out that “great news is coming from the Old Continent” and that “the new right has swept the European elections” to put “a brake on all those who push the 2030 Agenda, an inhumane agenda designed by bureaucrats, to benefit of bureaucrats”.
The first official results published by the European Parliament give victory to the European People’s Party (EPP) with 184 seats, followed by Socialists and Democrats (S&D) with 139 and Liberals (Renew), with 80 (which has lost 19 seats). If these scrutinized data are confirmed, ‘popular’, socialists and liberals will total 403 seats of the 720 in the running. The Greens have also suffered a significant drop, remaining at 52 seats from the 71 they had in the outgoing legislature.
The rise of the extreme right assures the radical and populist forces of at least 131 seats from the sum of the Conservatives and Reformists (73) and Identity and Democracy (58), groups that are now led by the Brothers of Italy of Georgia Meloni and the National Rally of Marine Le Pen, respectively.
Added to this are voices from other parties that for now appear as Not Registered because they were expelled from their natural groups in the last legislature, such as the 10 seats of Fidesz (Viktor Orbán’s party suspended from the EPP), the 15 of Alternative for Germany (expelled from ID) or the 3 from The Party’s Over.
