BBC television and radio presenter Michael Mosley has been found dead on the Greek island of Symi. Mosley, 67, had been missing since Wednesday after going for a walk alone along a coastal path.
Police spokesperson Constantina Dimoglidou previously said that the body of a person (presumably Mosley) had been found in the Agia Marina area, but that identification was pending. “The mayor of the island and a journalist from state television ERT They were filming the Agia Marina area when they saw the body“said Deputy Mayor Nikitas Grillis. “It certainly is him,” he added.
Another police officer said the body had been found on rocky terrain near the sea, dismissing earlier reports that it was found in a cave.
The wife of the television and radio presenter, the doctor Clare Bailey Mosleysaid that the days since his disappearance have been “unbearable and long”, as reported to British media. Bailey Mosley has thanked everyone involved in the search these days and said that the family “will not lose hope.”
Dr. Mosley, known for his work on television programs and on BBC Radio 4disappeared after leaving his wife on the beach of Agios Nikolaos around 1:30 p.m. local time in Greece and without his phone while walking around the island, as reported by his wife.
One of the last sightings of the presenter was thanks to video surveillance cameras walking with an umbrella next to the marina in Pedi village on Wednesday, heading into rocky hills.
