Russian anti-aircraft forces have shot down three Ukrainian drones in North Ossetia in the direction of the airfield in the town of Mozdok, from where the planes that attack Ukraine take off, as announced by the head of the Russian republic, Sergei Meniailo.
“According to preliminary information, the unmanned aerial vehicles arrived from the Ukrainian side. Their target was a military airfield. There were no casualties or destruction,” he noted on his official Telegram profile.
Later, Meniailo reported that “minor damage” had been reported. “For the safety of citizens, we have decided to cancel all public events in the Mozdok region,” he added in the aforementioned messaging application.
For its part, the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine has confirmed to the UNIAN news agency the attack on the airfield, which is 1,000 kilometers away from the border and from where Tupolev Tu-22M bombers take off.
