The number two in Israel’s war cabinet cancels his resignation speech after the operation in Nuseirat

The Israeli Army announced this Saturday that it has rescued four hostages kidnapped in the attack by Palestinian militias on October 7 after an operation in the Nuseirat refugee camp, in the center of the Gaza Strip.

The hostages have been identified as the young woman Noa Argamani and three men, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov and Shlomi Ziv, all of them kidnapped during the Supernova music festival, one of the main targets of the militia attack.

The liberation occurred after a simultaneous operation against two hideouts of Hamas militias “in the heart of the refugee camp.” Argamani was freed at one and the other three hostages were extracted safely from the second target.

All of them are in good health and are already receiving medical attention at the Tel Hashomer hospital.

Nuseirat has been the scene of several bombings carried out by Israel this week, the last of them this Saturday and which has so far resulted, according to Palestinian medical sources, in at least 40 deaths and dozens of injuries.

As soon as the Army announced the release of the hostages, the number two in Israel’s war cabinet and former chief of the General Staff, Benny Gantz, has decided to cancel the appearance he had planned for this afternoon in which, according to close sources, he would to announce his resignation after the expiration of his ultimatum to receive from the Government a concrete plan for the post-war future, reports the ‘Times of Israel’.
