The Houthi rebels of Yemen have assured this Thursday that they have carried out a first joint operation with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq – a combination of several pro-Iran militias – against the port of Haifa, located in northern Israel in the waters of the sea Mediterranean.

As detailed by the military spokesman for the Yemeni rebels, Yahya Sari, the operation consisted of two attacks. The first of them has been carried out against two cargo ships loaded with military equipment; The second was launched against a ship that had violated the prohibition of access to the port.

Sari shared a statement on Houthi social media in which he stressed that both attacks were “precise” and were carried out with unmanned aerial vehicles. However, the Houthis have not provided more information about the ships attacked or when the operation took place.

This same morning, the Houthis have reported three other attacks against merchant ships, two in the Red Sea and another against an American ship in the Arabian Sea, for allegedly having violated the order of the Yemeni insurgents not to head towards Israel in the framework of his support for the Palestinian cause.

The Houthis, who have controlled the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and other areas in the north and west of the country since 2015, have launched several attacks against Israeli territory and against ships with some type of Israeli connection following the offensive in the Strip. Gaza, which has caused more than 36,600 deaths to date, while American and British ships have been attacked in response to the bombings against Yemen.
