June 5 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The NGO Doctors Without Borders (MSF) reported this Wednesday that, as a consequence of the “indiscriminate” attacks by the Israeli Army against the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the week, the Al Aqsa hospital, in the central area of the Palestinian enclave , has received at least 70 dead and about 300 injured in the last hours.

“MSF medical teams, together with the teams at that hospital, are working incessantly. This morning our colleagues told us that the smell of blood was unbearable,” said MSF emergency coordinator in Gaza, Paulo Milanesio, in a video released by the NGO.

According to Milanesio, the emergency room at the Al Aqsa hospital is overcrowded because “there are people lying on the floor” and “the beds are not enough.” “The bags with bodies did not stop arriving, the situation is overwhelming. It is an apocalyptic situation that we can no longer contain,” he lamented.

Thus, Milanesio has denounced that the uptick in Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip has caused the Gazan health system, already greatly affected by the war, to continue “collapsing”, even more so when the border with Rafah remains closed and The necessary medical supplies do not enter.

“This means that the health system can no longer cope. The situation is decisive. There is no way we can cover all the needs. Here in Gaza civilians are dying on a massive scale,” denounced the MSF coordinator, who regrets that “people’s lives are not respected in Gaza.”

Finally, Milanesio has reiterated once again the already repeated call of Doctors Without Borders for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, where “it is unacceptable that due to the actions of man people continue to die en masse.”
