The Ukrainian authorities have considered it “important news” that the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, is going to attend the peace conference in Switzerland, after two meetings of Presidents Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky have been confirmed for this same month.
kyiv even publicly suggested that Biden should attend the Lucerne forum (June 15 and 16), but seems to be satisfied with the confirmation by the White House that Biden and Zelensky will meet first in France and then in Italy. taking advantage of the G-7 leaders’ meeting in the latter case.
Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, has emphasized in his Telegram account the importance of these two meetings, where the leaders will be able to discuss issues such as strengthening the Ukrainian Defense. Thus, he has called for continued collaboration to “guarantee a just and lasting peace” based on the defense of national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
