What is Disney+ with ads?

Disney+ with ads is a subscription type to the Disney+ streaming service that includes advertising while playing content. This option, also known as Disney+ Basic, offers a reduced subscription fee compared to the ad-free plan, making the service more accessible to a larger number of users.

This is one more option among the wave of streaming companies that have their ad-supported alternative available. Other apps such as Netflix or Amazon Prime Video have begun to have these modalities in recent months with which they seek to grow their base of paying subscribers, since with a more accessible amount, they allow them to remove ads from their platforms.

These movements are also part of the reconfiguration that the industry is experiencing. A few weeks ago, David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, revealed that the company reached an agreement with Disney to create a package that will contain Max and Disney+ in a single subscription. The pilot offer will be launched in the United States this summer, without yet revealing rates, with the aim of creating more options for audiences to access their content at a more affordable price. Nor has it been ruled out that this alliance reaches other latitudes.
