The main request of some of the union organizations refers to the approval and payment of a special compensation bonus, which has an annual cost of more than $5.5 billion by 2024. The Ministry of Labor has filed a complaint with the other Government authorities that have jurisdiction over the budget guarantee, technical studies and favorable legal position for its viability.

“In any case, the permanent social dialogue promoted by the Ministry of Labor must begin by recognizing that in December 2023 the agreed bonus of 25% was canceled, and the entity will continue and insist with the administrative procedures within its reach. I want to propose to the entire national territory that during the day the permanent minutes will be drawn up to guarantee the public servants who are on strike, those who do not support it, and the provision of public service to citizens.”

The entity has deployed and carried out all the actions and administrative management to resolve, through social dialogue and the legal framework, the requests for compliance with a union agreement that was signed 10 months ago. The Minister explained that the Unified Command Post (PMU) was activated through the management of the Government Secretariat of the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá, and the Security Secretariat, applying Protocol 053 to guarantee the implementation of joint actions and routes to protect the rights to assembly, public demonstration and social, peaceful protest and the rights of citizens.
