Ciclogreen, a mobility application, suffered a cyber attack on May 27 that affected the data of Decathlon employees in Spain, as confirmed to Europa Press by the multinational, which stated that “no other personal data or passwords, as well as any type of customer data.

Specifically, the multinational has indicated that after carrying out an initial analysis it has been confirmed that this data comes from a third-party application, which is Ciclogreen, and is only emails from Decathlon Spain employees.

“At Decathlon Spain we are investigating this incident and closely monitoring the situation with the support of the group’s cybersecurity teams,” the company stressed, reiterating that the “security and privacy” of its employees is an “absolute priority” for the company. company.

In this way, this action would have been carried out by a threat actor known by the pseudonym 888, who assumed responsibility for a leak of this data, according to the Escudo Digital portal, which is collected by Europa Press.

This attack adds to the recent ones suffered by companies such as Iberdrola, with a cyberattack that affected the data of some 850,000 customers in Spain; that of Banco Santander at the beginning of the month with the theft of personal data of clients in Spain, Chile and Uruguay, in addition to employee data, and Telefónica, which is investigating an alleged data leak of 120,000 clients and employees.
