Israeli Police arrest six people at anti-war demonstration in Gaza

Two officers are injured and taken to hospital

May 31. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli Police arrested six people this Thursday who were participating in a demonstration that took place in the city of Haifa against the bombings of the Israeli Army in the Gaza Strip, where more than 36,200 Palestinians have died since October.

The agents have arrested those attending the march for disturbing public order, detailing that the arrests have taken place for calling “in Arabic for the destruction of Israel and singing praises to the terrorists.”

“During the arrest attempt, two police officers were attacked, who were evacuated and required medical treatment,” reads a statement from the Israeli Police published on its Telegram channel.

The protest, declared an illegal assembly, had been announced as an anti-war demonstration and a show of solidarity with Gaza civilians in the midst of the offensive against the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), the ‘Times of Israel’ newspaper reported. .
