By duration of unemployment, in April 2024, 15.2% of the unemployed population looked for a job for more than three months, 30% remained unemployed for more than one month and up to three months, and 47.7% looked for work for up to one month, revealed the national occupation and employment survey (ENOE).
With original figures, the economically active population was 61.5 million people, of which 59.8 were employed in April (97.4%).
Sixth, last month there was 35.5 million men employed and 24.4 million women.
The ENOE also revealed that 4.6 million people (7.7%) said they have the need and availability to work more hours, a decrease of 320,000 people compared to April 2023.
According to the #ENOEin April 2024, the Economically Active Population #PEA was 61.4 million people (60.5% of the population aged 15 and over).

Sectors
In April, the services sector employed 26.6 million people, commerce another 11.5 million; while the manufacturing industry employed 9.5 million people, agricultural activities employed 6.4 million, and 9.5 million worked in construction.
Informality
The ENOE revealed that labor informality was found in 54.6% of the economically active population, that is, 32.6 million Mexicans. This percentage was better than the 54.7% in April of last year.
By sex, 54.1% of men are in the informal sector and 55.3% are women.
