The Turkish president attacks Netanyahu’s “psychopath” and criticizes Western countries’ support for Israel
May 29. () –
The president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, called this Wednesday the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, a “vampire who feeds on blood” and has advocated for a “united alliance of humanity” to stop “genocide, atrocities and barbarity” committed by the Israeli Army in the framework of its offensive against the Gaza Strip, unleashed after the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
“The international community is seeing firsthand the barbarity of Netanyahu, a maniac, a psychopath and a vampire who feeds on blood,” he said during an appearance before the parliamentary group of his formation, the Justice and Development Party (AKP). in which he said that Israel “is a threat to global peace and humanity as a whole.”
Thus, he has called for action to stop Israel “before Netanyahu and his network of murderers get out of control” and has reiterated that “no country is safe unless Israel is forced to adhere to International Law.” “Democracy, Human Rights, freedom of expression and of the press, the rights of women and children also die with the death of humanity in Gaza,” she denounced.
Erdogan has also criticized the United Nations and has questioned its usefulness if “you cannot have a genocide broadcast live in the 21st century”, while stating that European governments “are complicit in Israel’s vampirism due to their silence.” “The hands of the United States are also stained with blood” due to the “massacre” committed by Israel in its bombings against displaced people in Rafah, on the border between the Strip and Egypt.
“When will the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) implement an effective and preventive policy to stop the genocide in Israel?” he asked, before pointing out that “Zionism is being unmasked around the world.” “Israel is trying to put pressure on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and its judges and must be prevented from destroying the last trace of hope for some justice,” she added.
On the other hand, Erdogan has opted to materialize the two-state solution to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and has stressed that “more than three quarters of the 193 member states of the UN recognize Palestine as a State”, a day after that Spain, Ireland and Norway took this step, as reported by the Turkish state news agency, Anatolia. “The joint decision of 147 countries cannot be ignored by the will of five. 147 are more than five,” he concluded.
Israel unleashed its offensive against Gaza after the attacks carried out on October 7 by Hamas, which left nearly 1,200 dead and about 240 kidnapped, according to Israeli authorities. The Israeli offensive has so far caused nearly 36,200 Palestinian deaths, according to Gaza authorities, to which are added more than 510 deaths at the hands of Israeli forces and in attacks carried out by settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
