Ukraine signs military cooperation agreement with Spain;  Russia claims it captured two new settlements


Ukraine and Spain signed a bilateral security agreement, within the framework of the visit of the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, to Madrid this Monday, May 27. The Spanish Government committed to providing Kiev with military equipment worth 1,000 million euros, in 2024, to sustain the effort of the attacked country in the face of the Russian invasion that began more than two years ago. Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry assured that its troops took control of two settlements in the Ukrainian regions of Kharkiv, in the northeast, and Donetsk, in the east. On the other hand, the Kremlin condemned statements by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on the possibility of allowing Ukraine to use weapons from its allies to attack on Russian soil.
