It is in this way that the tool was designed under a classification model according to the socioeconomic situation, in order to determine access to the benefits provided by governments, these, it is worth detailing, iThey include some social benefits.
Although Colombia is part of a multilevel society in terms of economic income, andThis system injects a large part of its resources into Group A. This division corresponds to the most vulnerable population, and is made up of people and families who are in the greatest situation of poverty.

For this reason, it is the main division to which the largest amount of subsidies and benefits are allocated in order to support their health, education, food and housing. It is also of the highest priority when granting these advantages.
Next is Group B, which is categorized for moderate poverty. In this classification, people are in a situation of poverty, but it is not extreme. The acquired benefits are less than those of Group A, although they also have a large amount, especially, for health, education and support in employment and food programs.

On the other hand, the Sisbén refers to Group C. This includes people who are in vulnerable conditions, that is, people and families who are not poor, but they are at risk of being so. They receive some of the support provided by the Government, which is specific and limited, and focuses only on poverty prevention.
Finally, there is the least vulnerable group. This is Group D, where people and families with better economic stability are found, although they are susceptible to certain risks. Thus, the income of money in terms of benefits and aid is minimal and They are also part of the lower priority line.

In analysis of the reasons why Sisbén classifies these groups, also, It should be noted that in each of them there are subcategories that contribute to the delimitation of key aspects of vulnerability and also need.

These subgroups allow the resources and benefits are distributed efficiently and reach the people who really need it. In addition to being an information point so that Colombians know the benefits they can obtain and so that the State considers an equitable destination.
