The dollar in Colombia rose again, but failed to overcome the barrier of 3,900 pesos

The price of the dollar in Colombia registered new increases, this Thursday, May 23, but It remained below the barrier of 3,900 pesos.

The currency opened at 3,825.50 pesos and closed at 3,870 pesos, demonstrating how its behavior was during the day: it went from less to more.

Other values ​​that were negotiated were 3,818, 3,819, 3,820, 3,825, 3,830, 3,836 and 3,850 pesos. In addition, the maximum value of the day was 3,871.60 pesos and the lowest, 3,816 pesos.

At the end of the day, the average trading price of the dollar was 3,837.64 pesos, 8.05 pesos more than the Representative Market Rate (TRM) of the day, which was 3,829.59 pesos.

So far in 2024, the dollar has barely appreciated 0.20% against the Colombian peso, but in the last year (from May 2023 to May 2024) the national currency is the one that has strengthened against the ‘ greenback’ 15.44%.

Likewise, in 24 days of the fifth month of the year, the TRM of the dollar has only been above 3,900 on two days, with $3,902.63 being the highest value it has recorded.
