The Police This Friday, the Swedish company opened an investigation into a possible shooting in an area of Stockholm in which the Israeli embassy. The incident comes as protests against Israel spread over its offensive in the Gaza Strip.
Several people have been retained in relation to the event and a large area has been cordoned off in the Östermalm neighborhood from the Swedish capital.
Police officers were patrolling the area early this Friday when they heard several detonations which they believed could have been made by firearms.
“Evidence has been found at the scene that reinforces suspicions that there was a shooting,” police spokesman Per Fahlström told SVT public television.
According to SVT, these are several cartridgesalthough the Police, who have registered several addresses, have not confirmed it.
“No person has been detained. The classification of the crime is a serious crime with a firearm. The investigation is at a very early stage and many steps remain to be carried out. “For this reason, it is not possible to give any prediction about how it will develop,” the prosecutor in charge, Marika Hoppe, said in a statement.
Hoppe added that he cannot give details about which people have been or will be questioned.
