The office of the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, confirmed the death of a foreign DSNU worker in the event and added that a second was injured, while detailing that the vehicle was hit “when it was heading to the European Hospital in Rafá. “, according to Guterres’ deputy spokesman, Farhan Haq.

Haq himself explained that some 190 UN workers have died in Gaza since October 7, mostly Palestinian workers from the United Nations Refugee Agency in the Near East (UNRWA), and stressed that the deceased would be the first foreign worker of the organization who died since the beginning of the Israeli offensive after the attacks carried out by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
