The closing meeting of the 2022-2024 Phase of the project “Inclusive, sustainable and intelligent cities within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Latin America and the Caribbean” (CISI Project), of the ECLAC-BMZ cooperation program Giz offers a space to debate crucial topics for the future of our cities, including the link between sustainable mobility and urban development, the co-benefits of investments in urban mobility, manufacturing production opportunities and the potential of the circular economy. in the transport sector, the impacts and requirements of the energy sector, and the social rights involved in the access and use of public transport.
The CISI Project focuses on strengthening the technical and institutional conditions to promote the development of Latin America and the Caribbean, with a Great Momentum for Sustainability approach. That is, an effort to coordinate public policy, investments, incentives and regulations that harmoniously contribute to a transformative recovery in dynamic sectors. In particular, the opportunities that the implementation of electromobility provides to reduce environmental, economic and social gaps in our cities are highlighted, analyzed through technical assistance in Brazil, Costa Rica and Colombia.
The exchanges at the meeting, aimed at developing better public policies, will include the participation of national and local authorities, private institutions and development support entities, who will discuss the topics of research and assistance carried out by ECLAC throughout the year. project.
