Foreign Affairs sees the aid package for kyiv as an electoral effort and says that the US no longer believes in “the myth of victory” of Ukraine

April 21 () –

This Saturday, Russia described as a “vulgar theft” the authorization granted yesterday by the United States House of Representatives to the White House to seize approximately 6 billion euros in Russian assets frozen in the country, a prerogative that was part of the macro package of aid to Ukraine approved that day by the lower house of the North American Congress.

Billions of Russia's assets abroad are frozen as part of sanctions against Moscow for its invasion of Ukraine but that money has so far remained unmoved. The approval means that the Biden Administration, once the aid package is approved in the Senate in the coming days and later signed by the president, which will certainly happen, will be able to obtain that money to divert it, according to what the White House has ventured, to a “special fund for Ukraine”.

For the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zajarova, although “the issue itself is not interesting” for her country, this possible seizure is a symptom that “the ruling elites of the United States are willing to pump weapons into the Ukrainian regime.” to continue perpetrating terrorist attacks on civilian targets” and, to do so, “Washington even ends up resorting to the vulgar theft of Russian assets.

Zajarova considers that the internal dissension exhibited by US representatives on aid to Ukraine, represented in the difficult path that the process of approving this assistance package has taken, suggests that “the White House no longer trusts this myth of the victory of the Kiev regime”, but that its strategy consists of “the Ukrainian Armed Forces continuing to hold out” until the presidential elections in November, so as not to “taint Biden's image”.

Zakharova, therefore, believes that the United States is “prolonging the agony” of the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and “his entire entourage”, while “ordinary Ukrainians end up becoming cannon fodder.”

The spokesperson declares herself convinced that the United States, as a “part of the conflict” in Ukraine, will end up receiving an “unconditional setback” from the population, fed up with its “increasing immersion in a hybrid war against Russia” that will lead to a ” failure as resounding as their interventions in Vietnam and Afghanistan.

“In any case,” he stressed, “these delirious attempts to save Zelensky's neo-Nazi regime are doomed to fail.”
