Zelensky affirms that “defeating Russian terrorism” is “a global necessity” and asks his allies to confront Moscow's air attacks

April 19 () –

At least nine people, including three children, died this Friday due to a “massive attack” by the Russian Army against the Ukrainian province of Dnipro (east), according to the Ukrainian authorities, who have indicated that near More than 30 civilians have been injured.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office has indicated on its Telegram account that “the death toll has increased to nine, including three children,” after the head of the office, Andri Kostin, accused Russia of “a massive attack against Ukrainian cities.” ” and stated that “residential buildings” had been hit by projectiles and kamikaze drones.

“Emergency services are working in the attacked places. Prosecutors and agents are documenting the consequences of these war crimes,” said Kostin, who added that the authorities have opened “criminal proceedings.” “Russia is a state terrorist. Terrorists must be arrested and punished,” he stressed.

For his part, the governor of Dnipro, Serhi Lisak, spoke of “hard nights and mornings” due to “another massive attack.” “Some of the targets launched by the enemy were shot down,” he detailed, although he regretted that “unfortunately, there are also impacts” on Ukrainian territory.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has detailed that the affected cities include Dnipro, Kryvyi Rog – his hometown – and Sinelnikove, while expressing his condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

“Every state that gives air defense systems to Ukraine, every leader who helps convince partners that these systems should not be in warehouses, but in cities and communities attacked by terrorists, every person who supports our defense, saves lives” , he has indicated in his Telegram account.

“We must defeat Russian terrorism. This is not only a necessity for our State and for Ukrainians, it is a global necessity. Russia must be held accountable for its terrorism, its missiles, its drones,” he added. “The world can achieve it and partners have the necessary capabilities. This has been demonstrated in the skies of the Middle East and must work in the skies of Europe,” he concluded.

Zelensky has thus made reference to the direct involvement of the United States, France and the United Kingdom in intercepting missiles and drones launched by Iran on Saturday against Israel, in response to the bombing carried out on April 1 against the Iranian Consulate in the capital of Syria, Damascus, which killed seven members of the Revolutionary Guard.
